How To Obtain Your Hawaii Driving Record
It’s a smart choice to take a look at your Hawaii driving record to make sure everything listed is correct. The driving history record, also known as DHR, is designed for drivers with commercial licenses to keep track of their violations.
Applying to Get the Driving Record
The Department of Transportation Highways Department keeps track of the Hawaii Driver History Record. If you would like to get an official driving record for the purpose of employment or to check the status of your license, you can ask the Hawaii DMV directly.
There are three main kinds of driving records:
- Driver history records
- Traffic court reports
- Certified traffic abstracts
You can order traffic abstracts if you need less detailed driving records. These are usually used by insurance companies or employers to check on your moving violations, convictions and license revocations.
A complete abstract, called the traffic court report, has all of the information on your traffic abstract plus additional informtiaton about parking citations and equipment issues.
To get your record, you can go to the local HI district court in person or send a Request for Hawaii Driver History Record by mail to the district court. There is a $9 fee for either of these methods.
Required Documentation
To get your driving record, you will need to:
