If you need to go to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Indiana, you will want to go to a branch office or online in most cases. The local BMV office branches help with services such as getting your vehicle’s title or applying for a driving permit. Online, you can schedule appointments and use some online services.
There are several options for working with the BMV in Indiana. You can go to the BMV office branches, work with third-party vendors, or complete transactions online. Indiana BMV

The Indiana BMV has a branch map that makes it easy for drivers to find locations near them. There are both branch locations and 24-hour kiosks, so some transactions may be able to be completed out of normal business hours. Online Services

To avoid the lines at any BMV, some services are available online. You can schedule an appointment with the BMV, use myBMV services or work with third-party vendors on some transactions.

Third-Party Testers

Some third-party vendors are approved to administer road skills tests for motorcyclists and CDLs. Approved motorcycle testers are listed here, and approved third-party CDL test sites are listed here.

Emissions Testing

If your vehicle needs to pass a smog test, then you will need to go to an emissions testing facility. Only some vehicles need this test, such as vehicles belonging to new residents or if they are registered in Lake or Porter Counties.Go to the BMV station locator to find the local emissions testing site that is currently open. Keep in mind that some sites may be closed or by appointment only due to COVID-19 at this time.
