New Mexico DMV Locations

Introduction

The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department Motor Vehicle Division have three different types of offices. The first is commercial driver’s license testing sites, which provide testing services for those seeking to drive commercially. The second are ports of entry that issue fuel permits, tax returns, and trip permits, and train motor carriers. The third is field offices. Field offices perform driver’s license services for standard and provisional driver’s licenses and instructional permits and vehicle registrations. For drivers with standard driver’s licenses, the key locations are field offices.

While some locations have office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, some in smaller localities have reduced hours and are open only until 3 p.m. or open only on certain days.

Driver Training School

Although the state recognizes and accepts training from some state-licensed private driver training schools, DMV has one of its own, located in Farmington. The address of that school is Gt3 School of Driving, 1500 East 25th Street, Farmington NM 87401.

Other Service Providers

The DMV also has private companies that contract as service providers for DMV. These include some banks and credit unions, as well as some automotive dealers.
