What Are the Basics?

When you move, regardless of whether you are moving within the state or interstate, you must notify the Wyoming Department of Transportation to change your address on your driver’s license. To change your address on your vehicle registration, notify the county clerk in the county where you live.

How Do I Change My Address If I Am Moving Within Wyoming?

To change your driver’s license address, you fill out a Notice of Change of Address Form. In most cases, you can complete the change by mailing the form to:

Or by faxing it to (307) 777-3823. If you want an updated driver’s license, you’ll have to appear in person at a local Driver Services office and pay a fee.

You must complete the driver’s license change form within 10 days of your move.

How Do I Change My Address If I Am Moving To Wyoming from Another State?

If you are moving to Wyoming from another state, you will need to obtain a Wyoming driver’s license. This must be done in person. If you have a valid license from another state, you will bring the following, in addition to your license, to obtain a Wyoming license:

  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of current residency
  • Proof of social security number

You will have your photograph taken and pass a vision screening.

The cost is $45.

If your driving privileges have been suspended in another state, you’ll have to fulfill the requirements to have your license reinstated there first before you can obtain a driver’s license in Wyoming.

Active-duty military personnel does not need to obtain a Wyoming license when they move to the state.

How Long Do I Have to Complete This?

In most cases, you have up to a year after establishing residency. If your license is from Georgia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, or Michigan, you must immediately apply for a Wyoming license.

How Do I Change My Address If I Am Moving From Wyoming?

Wyoming does not require that you notify the state about your driver’s license since it will cancel your license once you obtain one in your new state of residence. However, you are required to notify them to cancel your license plates when you receive ones in your new state. That can be done by notifying the county you moved from.
